Custom Car Making Tips – Start your New Creation With A Car Body Part

Just because a car is made outside the traditional car manufacturing system, it doesn't mean it has to look strange or perform clumsily ...

“Car body part” sounds like something from a ghoulish mechanical nightmare. But of course we're not talking about dismembered headlights haunting dark highways. We're looking at an exciting industry, the industry of custom car making. And the first step into this intriguing realm is the procurement of a crucial car body part.

It's Alive, It's Alive!

Custom car building has been around for quite a while now. The most popular movement has been the “Hot Rod” movement. Hot Rods are usually old Fords that have been converted to perform better and look cooler too.

Then you have eccentric millionaires and hardworking average Joes trying their hand at making great cars. The results? Many vehicles that range from the admired, the collectible, to the plain wild.

Consider the following:

  • Classic Hot Rod – a transformed Ford that comes in varied designs and paint jobs. Each model's fundamental identity lies in its look (either a 50s or 60s Ford) and certain retooled aspects.
  • The De Lorean – a cool, futuristic car best remembered as the time machine in the wildly successful Back to the Future film trilogy. Yet despite its cinematic fame, this lavish project unfortunately sank because of numerous engineering and design flaws.
  • The Coffin Car – an actual car that looks like a coffin! The driver sits ostensibly in the area where you'd view the corpse; the engine is concealed in the lower part of the coffin. Makes the phrase “road kill” take on a whole new meaning.

Car Body Part – Funky Frankenstein

Just because a car is made outside the traditional car manufacturing system, it doesn't mean it has to look strange or perform clumsily. In fact, most custom built cars are works of ingenious art. All it takes is knowledge of engineering, a flair for creativity, and a fair amount of money to invest.

Sound like a great creative avenue for you? Go for it. Just don't forget to buy the necessary car body part or parts. Your road monster will need all the help it can get.
