In automotive auctions, like most of other auctions where vehicles are sold and displayed, the bidders contest with each other for great bargains. The whole process is presided over by an auctioneer. Often, an automotive auction is for car dealerships only and is not open to general people.

Generally, automotive auctions deal in off-lease, company cars or repossessed vehicles. Off-lease vehicles are those vehicles that are returned to the financial institution on finishing a lease term and these are often found at auctions. While off rental is referred to the practice of rental companies where these companies update their fleet of cars every year. It implies that they want to sell out their stock of cars of latest models due to their short usage. These cars are usually preferred by car dealerships who want cheaper cars so as to fill their stocks.

As far as company cars and large vehicles are concerned, they are almost a similar affair. They are constantly updated but their usage and condition differs depending on the amount of their use by a large corporation. Recovered vehicles are recalled by companies due to different reasons.

Automotive auction is a method by which a dealer can get rid of old stock that can not be sold to the public. It allows them to keep on moving the variety of vehicles and also proves useful for dealers, as they are able to assess the market condition by inspecting the quality of cars and other dealers’ actions.

One does not expect to earn high profits in these auctions, as prices are not as such low, but one gets freedom here. However, the negative aspect of auctions is that you cannot get the vehicles inspected by mechanics. Also, test drive can be taken only after the sale is completed. It is essential for dealers to announce faults or problems in the vehicle legally before auction, but still there remains a possibility of discrepancies that may result in unpleasantness.

However, car government auctions are considered as the most profitable among all other automotives auctions. In these auctions, vehicles that are seized or repossessed are sold. Though number of these government auctions has increased, others auctions have also increased. Thus, it has resulted in a kind of competition between government and private auction companies.

Besides the brick and mortar auction companies, there are other companies on the internet also. There you will find some of the best companies, which provide great service, excellent support and additional services in an all-in-one package. So, one has a wide option to choose from different auction companies. Well, in overall, these automotive auctions prove useful to automotive dealers.
